Requirement : Internal Senior Accountant Job Description: Forge is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing corporate operations team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Pricing, this position ensures that the business's financial accounting activities are performed accurately and in compliance with GAAP and relevant government contracting compliance regulations. This role helps shape the internal accounting function to scale with continued business growth. Key Responsibilities : The Accounting Team is responsible for managing all financial accounting and government cost accounting activities for Forge Group, LLC. The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Driving the monthly accounting close process, including journal entry processing, GL account reconciliations, preparation of monthly financial statements, and supporting analysis of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained. Responsibility for general ledger, job cost ledgers, accounts receivable, invoicing, and accounts payable functions. Reconciliation and analysis of all balance sheets accounts. Use professional judgment to research and evaluate all balance sheet accounts issues. Support any and all Fixed Price, Time & Material, and Cost-Plus contracts billing (FP, T&M, CP Contracts) and payment tracking in Unanet and various Government financial systems. Project revenue planning and monthly revenue analysis between forecasted and actual results. Supporting payroll entries in Unanet and ensuring accurate and timely timesheet reviews in support of payroll processing. Entering contract awards, modifications, purchase orders, work and expense authorizations, administrative timesheet and expense report changes in Unanet. Review of billable and indirect expense reports in Unanet. Vendor and subcontractor management. Implementing, documenting, and maintaining adequate and effective internal control policies and procedures. Driving process improvements around the efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy of month-end close and reporting cycles. Responsibility for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations (GAAP, FAR, CAS, SBA 8(a), tax, etc.) Assisting with the management of external audits and regulatory filings. Assist with year-end financial audit and tax preparation. Preparing limited business property tax filings for applicable states as well as applying for and maintaining various state registrations. Working with project / client-facing teams on financial management tracking for billing and reporting purposes. Provide cost, schedule and funding planning, reporting, monitoring and analysis support to Program Managers, and management, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and development of time-phased budgets and schedules. Prepare program financial Estimates at Complete (EAC) and meet deadlines for submission requirements. Perform ad-hoc financial analysis on the contract as requested by the Director or PM and others. Monitor funding/contract status, providing reliable and timely notification of funding status by line-item detail as required. Providing finance-based support, training, and process guidance for all staff questions. Perform ad-hoc accounting, finance, and payroll activities as required. Minimum Qualifications: US Citizen A minimum of 5 or more years of direct experience in accounting operations for a federal government contractor. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance is required. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, FAR, CAS, and SBA regulations Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Demonstrated experience with Excel. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines. Self-starter who takes ownership to identify and solve problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Experience with Unanet is required.
