Previse technology was made possible by grants from the National Institutes of Health (“NIH”) and developed after decades of research by the GI Early Detection Biomarker Lab at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Previse early-detection system combines a simple routine test given as part of routine care with our patented DNA biomarkers that accurately test for disease. Our system is convenient, inexpensive, and accurate, so it can be given to those at risk before cancer symptoms, empowering patients to know earlier, receive necessary treatments, and live a healthier, longer life. Opportunity: Previse is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our innovative, fast-paced organization as a Laboratory Technician I. The successful candidate will assist in various laboratory tasks, including sample preparation, data collection, equipment maintenance and will work with our laboratory team to perform complex testing according to established SOPs. Key responsibilities: Perform routine laboratory tasks under the supervision of senior staff members. Prepare samples according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Conduct experiments and tests following established protocols. Maintain inventory records of laboratory supplies and incoming specimens. Performs and documents sample testing following established laboratory protocols, from start to end. Prepares testing equipment and performs preventive maintenance. Prepares and maintains complete and accurate records of reagents or media using established procedures, formulas, stock solutions and fixed volume measuring devices. Performs data entry or transfers data to computer for data reduction Perform and documents Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance results, when necessary, Follow safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve laboratory processes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace. Communicate with direct supervisor if in need of support or suggestions. Perform other duties as assigned. Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree or greater in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Or have earned an associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and have 1 year of relevant laboratory experience A Successful Candidate will have: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols accurately. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures preferred. Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS Office applications. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with laboratory software for data analysis and record-keeping. Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and/or Quality Management Systems (QMS). Benefits: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
