The CHAI Works- South Day Program Manager works closely with the Assistant Director and develops, coordinates, and executes comprehensive programming for adults with disabilities within Canton's Community-Based Day Services. The Manager is on-site and available throughout the day to ensure participant safety and meaningful, high-quality programming. The Manager works collaboratively with program staff, families, residential programs, other JF&CS departments, volunteer work sites, and DDS. This is a great role for someone who enjoys interacting with lots of people; the Manager is responsible for setting a friendly and welcoming tone for all. Highlights Full-time, weekday daytime hours. No weekends! In-person, Canton location Paid time off includes ample sick time and 22 days of vacation, in addition to national and some Jewish holidays Immediate eligibility for medical insurance, dental, vision, retirement plan; no waiting period Responsibilities of the Day Program Manager: Coordinate day to day programming activities, quality, and schedule changes. Provide on-site staffing and clinical support, as well as problem solving issues that come up with programming or participants on a day-to-day basis. Assist supervisor to oversee program staff regarding participant programming and support needs. Create the individualized and community-based weekly schedule for the program. Complete program opening responsibilities, including ensuring all transportation is scheduled accurately and resolving any discrepancies. Provide case management for assigned caseload. Supervise and evaluate direct care staff, volunteers, and interns, as assigned. Provide direct care staffing, when needed (staffing emergencies, shortages, and vacation coverage). Requirements of the Day Program Manager: Several years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Bachelor's degree in related field or at least five years' experience. Ability to make safe, consistent, and effective clinical decisions in crisis and non-crisis situations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication and conflict resolution skills. Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate participant goals/activities, operations, and staffing patterns. A valid driver's license and a reliable, insured vehicle (most transportation will take place in program-owned vehicles) Ability to pass First Aid/CPR/MAP trainings. Knowledge of DDS regulations (preferred). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Outlook MORE ABOUT CHAI WORKS DAY PROGRAM: Our CHAI Works day program fosters community, understanding, and personal fulfillment in individuals with disabilities to help them lead productive and integrated lives in their communities and increase their feelings of self-worth and confidence. CHAI Works helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities become more independent, pursue individual goals, and experience the gratification of meaningful, productive activity.Participants enjoy an array of educational, recreational, and enrichment experiences. They take part in health and wellness activities and a variety of lifelong learning classes. Together with staff, they volunteer each week at local nonprofits where they develop job skills, soft skills, and interests. "In all of the volunteer work they do, we really try to help them understand the impact it has in their community, and how people can receive help and be helpful at the same time," says Kathryn Friel, director of day programs.
