JOB SUMMARY : Assists the Wellness Department with the professional delivery of health services, support, and education that will enhance student employability and help students maintain a healthy lifestyle. D UTIES : Performs duties under the supervision of the health and wellness director. Responsible for ensuring doctor’s orders are followed in the Wellness Center and the care of all patients as prescribed. Maintains charts on all patients and compiles medical and dental records of terminated students. Notifies residential personnel of released patients. Maintains a record of all admissions and dismissals. Compiles various logs, records, and reports, for example, wellness use, examinations and medication use. Maintains a record of all calls to on-call medical personnel. Dispenses prescribed medication. Assists with cursory examinations, sick calls, and wellness care. Serves as on-call nurse when scheduled. Works to ensure performance management standards are met. Ensures that required property (equipment) controls are adhered to. Maintains current knowledge in CPR and First Aid Ensures that a clean and safe health facility is operated at all times. Monitors areas of responsibility to ensure timely and high-quality services. Works towards meeting performance management goals. Follow the CDSS Plan and Procedures daily. Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and center policies and procedures. Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices. Models’ appropriate employability skills for dress, language and work habits. Continuously helps students become more employable. Participates in PRH mandated staff training. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Performs other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend duties (if scheduled): Visits each dorm to assess needs. Follows up on chronic case management. Delivers and reminds of appointments the next day. Oversees medication administration in the dorms. Refills all PRN and OTC medication boxes weekly. Collects OTC logs and files in student health record. Completes monthly medication monitoring forms on all prescription drugs. Audits and maintains medication mailboxes to ensure students have the needed refills. Files MAR/MORs in student health records. Evening and weekend nursing will be generally located in the dorms, recreation, and center grounds with office times for filing, ordering, cleaning, and follow up calls. The afterhours nursing staff are to be mobile on center. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and diploma from an accredited nursing program. Active, unrestricted license to practice in state where the center is located. One year of related experience and valid state driver license required. Current BLS/CPR certification.
