SKILLS : Working Independently Technical Skills (Advanced) Safety Skills (Advanced) Problem-Solving Skills (Basic) Mechanical Skills (Advanced) Interpersonal Skills Equipment Operation (Advanced) Communication Skills (Advanced) Adaptability Skills (Advanced) BEHAVIORS Team Player: Works well as a member of a group Innovative: Consistently introduces new ideas and demonstrates original thinking Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well MOTIVATIONS: Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization 2 Maintain a clean and 5S-compliant work area Knowledge of Occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to mechanical maintenance and repair work, including lockout procedures and confined space entry procedures Responsibilities:• Perform general and preventive maintenance work including mechanical, 1 3 phase electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and fabrication• Ensures safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures• Strict adherence to housekeeping, clean work areas upon completing a project, and plant GMPs• Provide maintenance support to all stations effectively and efficiently• Ensures operation of plant equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements• Perform predictive maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, and electrical systems• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments• Remove defective parts by dismantling equipment; using hand and power tools, and cranes and hoists when necessary• Function as an engaged team member and contribute to the site's continuous improvement efforts• Able to effectively and safely operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, and basic electrical test meters• Perform pneumatic, and hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairs• Effectively pass down to next shift personnel, unfinished repairs, and unresolved maintenance/production issues• Communicate with the production supervisor and plant manager on product runs, equipment problems, packaging issues, and potential downtime• Maintain positive working relationships with supervisor and co-workers• The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance and repairs of production equipment, and facilities• Keeps the immediate supervisor informed of relevant activities on shift and takes or recommends corrective action when required• Demonstrates a positive attitude and relates in a positive manner when interacting with all personnel• Keep detailed and accurate equipment records• Maintain awareness of customer and regulatory demands and focus• Responsible for adhering to quality system requirements• Maintain all equipment in the facility to the manufacturer's specification• Follows through on the plant's preventative maintenance program• Repairs down or damaged equipment• Performs testing and diagnostic duties as required• Performs other duties as assigned• Follow the plant safety rules, and report incidents of unsafe conditions immediately Qualifications: • Knowledge of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems• Excellent work ethic, communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detail• Must have the ability to read electrical prints• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills• Understand and follow written and oral instructions in the English language• Ability to work with little to no supervision• Must have proven working knowledge of electrical/mechanical skills and have operational knowledge of basic tools and equipment• Prefer prior experience or education related to mechanical systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation• Mechanical aptitude including:• Ability to perform typical maintenance activities related to troubleshooting and repair of equipment• Electricity, able to perform basic troubleshooting using test instrumentation• Operate, maintain, and perform chemical testing of the boilers, refrigeration, and wastewater systems Compensation: $23 - $28 hourly + $2 shift premium About Company: American Berry Company was founded by Willie Traina of Traina Foods and John Potter of Innovative Sales, Inc. in 2020.
