Boys & Girls Club Location: Marydia Community Center 707 Sawdust Trail, Kissimmee, FL 34744 POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of assigned Club(s). Ensure that the facilities and grounds are maintained in optimal condition, emphasizing physical integrity, cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge, Education, Experience & Skills Knowledge of cleaning methods and use of maintenance equipment. Ability to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings, as required. KEY ROLES Competency Areas: Daily Cleaning and Maintenance Duties: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; spot-clean carpets as necessary. Regularly empty and sanitize trash receptacles. Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring a consistent stock of necessary supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet tissue. Clean glass surfaces and mirrors to a streak-free finish. Remove handprints and scuff marks from doors and walls. Dust furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces. Maintain the cleanliness of the club's exterior by removing trash and debris from the grounds and outdoor areas. Floor Care: Periodically buff floors to maintain their appearance and extend their lifespan. Implement specialized floor cleaning techniques for various types of flooring as required. Safety and Repairs: Promptly report any hazardous conditions or damage to the Club supervisor for immediate repair. Assist in minor maintenance tasks as capable, under the guidance of Maintenance personnel. Supply Management: Monitor janitorial supplies and inform the Club supervisor when replenishment is needed. Suggest improvements or changes in products or equipment to enhance cleaning efficiency and environmental sustainability. Additional Responsibilities: Participate in seasonal deep cleaning and special cleaning projects. Assist in setting up, breaking down, and cleaning before and after events and activities. Stay informed about and comply with all safety and health regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment. Update cleaning logs and procedures related to facility maintenance. Occasionally supervise club members during break periods or in emergency situations as needed. ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Supervisory Responsibilities: None Budget Responsibilities: None Relationships Internal: Collaborate closely with other staff members, offering technical support and assistance in areas of facility maintenance and operations. Maintain regular interaction with the Club Director, acting as a key point of contact for maintenance-related concerns and updates. Engage with the staff and management as necessary, providing insights or reports on the physical condition and safety of the club premises. Participate in meetings or committees as assigned by the Club Director, contributing to discussions on club maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency. External: Maintains close daily contact with club members, families, and the general public to give and obtain information, either in response to inquiries or as instructed by the supervisor. Represent the club in a professional manner during interactions with external parties, ensuring the club's commitment to excellence and community engagement is conveyed. Liaise with external contractors or service providers for specialized maintenance tasks, overseeing their work to ensure it meets the club's standards and requirements. Participate in community events or projects as a representative of the club, fostering positive relationships and collaboration opportunities. Other: Environmental and Working Conditions: The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments of a club setting, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions. The role may involve exposure to cleaning materials and maintenance equipment, adhering to safety standards, using personal protective equipment, and following protocols. Must be able to read and interpret product labels and material safety data sheets and follow product use instructions. Work in environments frequented by children and families, requiring adherence to safety and conduct standards that ensure a child-friendly and family-oriented atmosphere. Must be adaptable to a dynamic work schedule, including evenings and weekends, to support club activities and events. Ability to navigate different areas of the facility, including storage areas, recreational spaces, and outdoor grounds. Physical and Mental Requirements: Physically capable of performing cleaning and maintenance tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, bending, and reaching. Manual dexterity and coordination sufficient to operate maintenance equipment safely. Visual and auditory acuity to monitor the environment and ensure safety standards are maintained. Mental resilience and the ability to stay focused and effective in a busy, sometimes noisy environment. Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with children, family members, and other staff. Pre-Employment and Ongoing Compliance Requirements: Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
