Essential Fuels is currently accepting applications for a full-time liquor store clerk. This position will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring smooth and efficient transactions at the checkout. Your friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to handle cash transactions accurately will contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of our store. WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A LIQUOR CLERK: Ensure that every customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging customers, maintaining outstanding standards, product knowledge and all other components of customer service. Interacting with customers to provide information and assistance in response to inquiries about products and services. Maintaining a clean, customer friendly store environment. Performing regular cleaning activities including, but not limited to, cleaning floors, glass doors, counter surfaces, and restrooms, emptying all interior and exterior trash cans, rotating and straightening merchandise and cleaning beverage and food service equipment. Replenishing products and supplies to ensure product availability. Accurately and efficiently completing sales transactions and maintaining proper accountability at the cash register. Under immediate supervision, performs cashiering duties, clerical work and routine liquor store stock work and other related work as required. Operates cash register in selling liquor store merchandise, including checking identification (in accordance with City/State policy) and assessing potential instances of customer intoxication, to ensure legal liquor sales and proper check acceptance procedures. Assists customers in locating items for purchase and aids them in making selection if asked. Stocks shelves with merchandise; dusts and cleans shelves, maintaining attractive display of items. Performs inventory duties. Unloads truck shipments of merchandise, including heavy cases of wine and liquor. Determines and develops periodic listings of merchandise needed to fill existing merchandise shelves and displays. Performs miscellaneous cleaning and janitorial duties to ensure attractive store appearance. Performs other related duties as assigned. The ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to climb, stoop and kneel repeatedly. The ability to regularly lift bottles and cases (Up to 50 pounds). You’ll be a Great Fit You Possess: Skilled in operating a cash register. Ability to quickly and accurately make change. Ability to communicate with the public. Ability to work a variety of hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Professional and approachable appearance. The ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to climb, stoop and kneel repeatedly. Ability to demonstrate core values; Teamwork, Excellence, Integrity, Caring, Passion. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 21 years old. Liquor Store experience. Retail cashier experience. Knowledge of beer, liquor, and wine items.
