Purpose The Audit Department is the 3rd Line of Defense and plays a key role in the internal control system of the Bank. Its mandate is to provide independent and objective assurance over the design and effectiveness of internal controls to mitigate risks and to provide advisory services designed to improve the Bank's operations. You will be working as part of the Global Compliance Audit Team and be responsible for the overall planning and executing Compliance audits (non-AML). You will work with the VP and Senior Director to plan and execute Audit strategies and annual plan along with key Compliance audits to backss the design and operational effectiveness of Compliance function oversight and controls, adherence to regulatory requirements and Bank policies, and the effectiveness of operations. You will assist in all aspects of the audit, including the planning, execution, and reporting phases and will lead to validate internal and external issue, as well as audit continuous monitoring activities. This role will focus on backssing adherence to regulatory obligations by the Compliance Function as well as supporting the Director with audit coverage of the Regulatory Compliance Management Framework including regulatory obligations, risk backssment, issues management, monitoring and testing, remediation testing, preparation of thematic wrapper reports. The incumbent will act as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) on audit engagements and is responsible for managing the planning, execution, and reporting of assigned audits in accordance with department standards. Accountabilities As the Global Compliance Centre of Excellence: Plan and execute audits of the Enterprise Compliance functions to formulate a periodic opinion on the effectiveness of the function in managing the regulatory compliance obligations across Scotiabank Conducts validation.
