LOFT is also recognized as a Nonprofit Employer of Choice™ Award (NEOC) recipient. To help fulfill its mission, LOFT is hiring a Behavioural Support Worker. JOB SUMMARY: As a Behavioural Support Worker, dedicated to the North York General Hospital Reactivation Care Centre, you will be a member of an interdisciplinary team that provides direct care, education and support to seniors who are demonstrating responsive behaviours that may be associated with various types of dementia, mental health, substance use and/or other neurological disorders. The Behavioural Support Worker provides expertise in observation of behaviour, collection of pre and post data, implementation of behavioural strategies and assists in the completion of an evidence-based Behavioural Support Plan. Working with the Behavioural Support Specialist and other members of the care team, the Behavioural Support Worker will enhance the quality of life for clients with responsive behaviours while they are at the RCC and actively support their transition to their next care destination. Staff may be required to work in client’s own homes and may therefore be exposed to second hand smoke. Evening and weekend hours may be required as well as frequent travel using own vehicle.
