Primary responsibility centers around theinstallation, test and repair of Combat Systemequipment on destroyers being built in Bath,Maine.The selected candidate will perform duties as an AEGIS ComputerNetwork Technician (ACNT) providing Computerand Display Systems maintenance supportaboard AEGIS Destroyers as a Team Member onthe AEGIS Test Team (ATT). Selected applicantwill directly interface with other technicians andengineers to provide effective and timelyreconciliation of hardware, software, andnetwork challenges and provide training to shipsforce on the operation and maintenance of the newest baseline of Aegis equipment. Position requires shift work, brief at-sea periods and periodic travel supporting assessments, fleet emergent requirements and equipment installation events and issues. Basic Qualifications: - Experience in AEGIS Combat Systems as anAEGIS Computer / Display / ACNT technicianwith a thorough understanding of Baseline 9equipment and/or applicable training in othermilitary services.-UNIX-based open architecture experience andits application to the U.S. NAVY Aegis ComputingInfrastructure (ACI)- Experience with testing of fiber optics cables- Working knowledge of Ethernet LANtechnology- Thorough understanding of US Navy preventiveand corrective maintenance and proficiency inreading technical documents- Familiarity with hardware, software, networktest equipment used to evaluate and correctoperational failures (i.e. fiber optic testers,multimeter's, o-scopes).-25-35% travel will be required and can beexpected in support of AEGIS conducted at locations outside of Bath, MECandidate will be required on an infrequent basis to go underway on units and to frequently work on moored pier-side units. Physical ability to navigate steep stairs and ladders as well as work in confined spaces is a requirement. Desired Skills: * Must have an understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field, proficiency in reading technical documentation and possess both a mechanical and electrical aptitude* Graduate of military or civilian electronicand/or technical school plus experience isdesirable* Proven ability to work with associatedcontractors, Navy crewmembers and othergovernment personnel* Knowledge of/or experience in other functionalequipment areas of the AEGIS Systems installed on Destroyers. BMD experience a plus.* Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts requiring excellent written and oral communication skills Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
