Position Overview: The Conversation SLC is seeking an expressively creative, dynamic, and passionate individual to join our team as a Worship Director and overseer of the creative arts for the organization. This key leadership role will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining all aspects of musical worship, Sunday aand. all other gathering times. The Worship Director will work closely with the pastoral staff, volunteers, and families to create an engaging worship environment where people can connect with God's love and develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. General Responsibilities: Lead musical worship with voice and instrument. Work hard and be prepared. Commit to The Conversation SLC best practices. Always have responsibilities covered or find a replacement. Train other potential leaders to do your job better than you do it. Manage online Planning tool (or equivalent) to ensure Creative Arts Team readiness for Sundays and other events. Manage Presentation tool (or equivalent) to ensure tech team readiness for Sundays or other events. Be on time, prepared, and motivated to give God your absolute best at every opportunity. Run the weekly rehearsal and make sure all musicians know the music and are prepared for Sunday. Work with the Lead Pastor to schedule musicians and select appropriate songs for the service. Know all songs and lyrics well enough to not have to think about what you are singing or playing. In other words, have all the music memorized to perfection. Become familiar with all the instrument parts to insure the other musicians are playing exactly what they are supposed to and in turn know their part and have the ability to play it. Help load band/PA equipment and run mic/instrument lines during the set-up process and then reverse the process during the teardown. Come with your own equipment as well as back-up cables, strings, and instruments in case of an emergency. Manage the band during sound check and make sure they are focused and respectful of the audio directors needs and requests. Watch evaluation video and provide written feedback to Lead Pastor on areas that can be improved, updated, better organized, evaluated, or concerns that need to be addressed. Personal Responsibilities: Maintain God ordained priorities in your life by putting Jesus Christ first before everything else. Give at least a tenth of your income to the mission and ministry of The Conversation SLC. Continue to develop and grow leadership and musical skills. Be committed to the vision, mission and values of The Conversation SLC. Invest in team and invite the lost to The Conversation SLC and into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
