Job Type: CASUAL Job Outline: The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising day to day operations and the front line staff in the Environmental Services Department. The Supervisor provides direct leadership, guidance and support to a multi-functional team to ensure a high level of cleanliness, quality and timeliness of environmental service delivery to all customers. This position liaises with the clinical units on a regular basis. Key areas of responsibilities include participation in the recruitment process, performance management, payroll, scheduling, quality auditing, infection control, waste removal, pest control, routine and terminal cleaning, floor care, linen, laundry, uniforms and re-development transitions. Education & Qualifications: Ontario Hospital Associations’ Environmental Services Level I and Level ll courses successfully completed or in progress Ontario Healthcare Housekeepers’ Association professional development courses such as Infection Control and Laundry for Healthcare Facilities successful completed or in progress an asset A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or in a related field from a recognized university or college 3 years healthcare supervisory experience in a unionized setting required Demonstrated ability to develop reporting, scheduling and presentation documentation Strong project management experience required and an ability multi-task and prioritize are essential Experience working with and/or supervision of Linen Staff is required Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred Experience in leading and supporting a multi-functional team and a demonstrated ability to provide clear instructions and to monitor work progress Infection control cleaning, teaching and monitoring experience in a hospital environment preferred Performs quality.
