Lake County Job Opening Finance Officer QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess at least four years of gradually increasing responsibility in an accounting position; be knowledgeable of general accounting procedures as they relate specifically to county fiscal management and budget, general governmental accounting procedures, and the structure, function, and interrelationships of county offices and departments. Must possess the ability to organize and perform numerous complex tasks; work effectively with others; manage time; operate computers and other office equipment; work efficiently and quickly under stressful conditions; understand and follow instructions; establish and maintain cooperative relationships; relate to the public in a courteous and assisting manner; and assist other employees and departments as needed; Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance DUTIES: Prepare the County's annual budget; calculate the levies; ensure compliance with state and budgetary laws; monitor budget compliance; monitor and track reporting of all County grants and receipt of monies and County's fixed assets; assist in grant reporting and preparing annual budgets and individual accounting matters; maintain and revise financial accounting policies and systems; assist the Clerk and Recorder in controlling and supervising routine accounting transactions; reconcile budget reports; and perform other duties as assigned; work with outside auditors; manage administrative service contracts; comply with Federal and State reporting requirements; process year end closing procedures. HOURS/DAYS: 8 am to 5 pm/M-F WAGE: Minimum $75,000 salary. Negotiable depending on experience. *This position will remain open until filled.
