We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Care and Support Worker, on a 2 weeks contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Responsibilities: Recognise the abilities and talents of individuals and enable their social, spiritual, recreational, educational and entertainment needs to be met Communicate effectively with range of staff and clients including carers, families and friends. Contribute to the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and alert an appropriate person where potential abuse is identified Monitor and help with medication as appropriate Assist people to manage their personal affairs and finances. Maintain accurate, up to date, written and other personal records, as appropriate. Identify environmental and falls risks provide appropriate advice and information and refer on when necessary Qualifications: Commitment to gain relevant NVQ or QCF Level 2 if not already achieved Previous work or other experience to demonstrate and evidence an ability and understanding of supporting vulnerable people and working within social care values Basic awareness of the role social care can play in peoples lives. Knowledge and understanding of how Equality & Diversity, Dignity & Respect, and Human Rights will apply to this role Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
